Employee Spotlight: Shannon Parker
Only three more opportunities (including this one!) for you to learn all about our fantastic employees here at Magnolia Homes! This segment has been such a fun one, and we hope you are enjoying reading them as much as we are! If you’re a Magnolia Homes homeowner, today’s employee spotlight is a name you sure are familiar with: Shannon Parker! She’s involved every step of the process from Design to Warranty! Without further adieu, October’s employee spotlight!
What is your Role at Magnolia Homes?!
I am the Design & Warranty Manager!
How long have you been at MH?
I’ve been here for 1 year and 8 months!!!
What is your Favorite Part About your day-to-day?
My favorite part about my day-to-day is the giggles!! I love interacting with my coworkers, swapping funny stories, and honestly, just giving each other a hard time (in the best way possible—it really brings you together.) I also love how the daily grind is NEVER the same. Keeps me on my toes and makes us well-versed in all departments!!
What is your Favorite Lunch Spot?
Oooo, this is a tough one because we have some goodies, but probably Tacos 4 Life!! That Mango Habanero is *chef’s kiss*
What’s your Go-to Coffee Order?
Tall vanilla shaken espresso, but if it’s caffeine, I’m drinking it!!!!
What are your Hobbies Outside of Work?
Cooking, going to Tigers or Grizzlies games, and snuggling my sweet Rottweiler.
Share a Silly or Sweet Work Memory!
I’m going silly: On our company trip this year, there was a night where we all went to see a show together after dinner. Let’s just say it was….interpretive. There is simply nothing more funny or more entertaining than sitting with 25+ of your coworkers, all in literal tears, giggling about what we were seeing on the stage. It is by far my favorite experience and bonding moment for the Magnolia crew. We talked about it for the rest of the trip!!!
If you were stranded on a deserted island and you were able to choose one coworker to be stranded with, who would you choose and why?
I’ll never hear the end of this, but Hunter!! He can hunt, fish, and is extremely quick-witted. I would forage the island for natural herbs and spices and would find a way to make the food taste somewhat bearable. I am sure that by day 2, we would have a nice hut built and the Tigers game streaming while drinking from coconuts in a makeshift hammock or something—Hunter would find a way!
Lots of fun responses on this one! Thank you, Shannon, for you continued service and dedication to Magnolia Homes! We love you!
