What We Love About Living in Collierville

Local Amenities

One of our favorite reasons we love living in Collierville is because of the abundance of local amenities offered. Walking trails that connect to the Green Belt, multiple public parks with playgrounds, turf fields, tennis courts, spray parks, athletic fields, an award-winning Town Square, a fantastic public library, a local museum, and so much more are available for use to Collierville residents! There are also multiple prestigious gyms, ponds for fishing, and golf courses for recreational activities.

Rich in History

Founded by Jesse R. Collier in 1836, Collierville was the home of multiple battles in the Civil War. After a period of building and regrowth, Collierville saw substantial economic expansion in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries and now boasts a high quality of life. Collierville’s downtown area is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and in 2014 Collierville’s historic town square was ranked by Parade as the “Best Main Street” in America. The Morton Museum located on the Square is dedicated to informing residents of the town’s history and was recently nominated as a Best Local Government Place by ELGL.org.

Town Square

A great place to learn more about the town’s rich history is the Collierville Town Square! The Town Square is lined with local shops and businesses, restaurants, a charming coffee shop, and places to indulge in your sweet cravings! In the center of the square is a spacious green space with brick-lined walking paths that lead to a charming gazebo. Throughout all seasons, you can expect to see holiday celebrations, concerts, festivals, and picnics held here! Collierville’s annual Christmas tree lighting brings spectators from all over to see the Square come to life with Christmas lights for the season! The first weekend of May hosts the annual “Fair on the Square” full of fun games for families, art from local vendors, food trucks, and more! Additionally, there is a family-fun Halloween event hosted at the Square each October full of trick-or-treating, costumes, and games!

Great Schools

The Town of Collierville has repeatedly been praised for their fantastic public education, as well as the close proximity to private education! Very recently, Collierville was voted as Best School District in the State of Tennessee by Stacker.com and Niche.com out of 127 school districts! The town takes education very seriously, and continuously invests in elevating the educational experiences offered.

You can even become a member of Leadership Collierville, which is an 8-month program that encourages town leadership and altruistic public service to this amazing town!

Maroon & White! Go Dragons Go! Collierville represents and holds itself to high standards, which are displayed throughout the town in the pride of its residents! Cheering on the local sports teams, supporting local causes, altruistic service to others, and building camaraderie with neighbors are just a few ways we see the town residents exhibiting their satisfaction in Collierville! The neighbors and friends in this community are close-knit, which is what our town is built on! This community is not just a place to reside, but a town to invest in!

Another reason we’re proud to call Collierville home is because of its fantastic dining options! A variety of restaurants can be found located in our Town Square, in our Carriage Crossing Shopping Mall, along our main road Poplar Avenue, and around various shopping strips! An endless array of opportunities from fine dining to casual dining and everything in between can be found in Collierville! Additionally, the Town is fueled by local coffee shops that are always bustling with energy and exuding coziness.

Shopping Spree, anyone?! Collierville is not only home to all these enjoyable amenities, dining experiences, and education, but also to fantastic shopping spots! You can find plenty of great stores in the Collierville Carriage Crossing Mall and local shops around Town Square. Collierville is also just minutes from The Shops of Saddle Creek, which houses upscale shopping and stores! There are additional shopping plazas tucked in throughout the town that are a staple to the locals and to those traveling from surrounding suburbs!
